Personal Statement

Ever since my freshman year I have dreamed about playing college basketball.  I put in extra effort to this sport and set out my senior year with a team goal of being league champions and a personal goal of being league MVP.  My hard work paid off and my goals for the year achieved - Grant Union Prospectors were Wapiti League champions and I received the highest league honor - Wapiti League MVP. Our team went into the State Tournament ranked #8 and finished above that with a sixth place finish. An additional honor was to be selected for the 2017-2018 All State 2nd Team. My junior year, the extra effort got me first team all league and honorable mention all state.

I also put extra effort into academics and it pays off.  Through most of my high school career, I have gotten primarily A's with a couple B's here and there.  This shows that I'm willing to put in the effort in the classroom before sports, which will keep me academically eligible for sports. As a result of what I have put into academics the last four years, I have been selected as 2018 Class Valedictorian.
