Steven Adams, 6’0” Captain Point Guard
Personal Statement
Basketball has been a passion of mine ever since I can remember. My will to compete is the source of my relentlessness driven attitude. I can’t imagine my life with the lessons learned from the game I love.
My coaches tell me that my strongest asset is my work ethic. I always force myself to work harder than anyone in the gym. At 6’0” people will overlook and underestimate me but my toughness my mental fortitude always outweighs my competitors. When they get tired is when I dominate.
Most people that don’t fully understand the game of basketball only appreciate the measurable offensive stats of my game, but those that fully understand basketball and my competitors will remember my grit and the ferocious competitor on the defensive side of the ball. The ability to dominate someone on the defensive side of the ball is what fuels me. The accolade I'm most proud of on the court is setting the single season record for 25 on-ball charges my sophomore season.
My personal goal is to graduate from college and continue to be a student athlete on campus. I want to continue to play basketball in college and beyond should I make the most of my opportunities. I am willing to put in the work, sacrifice, be coachable and be a role model in the community for the university that helps me reach my goals.
