Tyson Smith '26 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing basketball since I was 5, and it is my dream and goal to play college basketball. I have worked hard and dedicated my time and effort to improving my skills. As a point guard I work at developing my game toward having elite skills as a ball handler, shot creator and facilitator to help lead the team to high percentage looks offensively. As a freshman I earned a starting varsity position as the point guard on a team full of seniors, and it was a great experience for me. This year I was chosen as team captain, so I have to take a larger leadership role, and also take on the role of being the go-to guy. I live in the pressure moment and having the team on my back. I enjoy studying the game in my off time, to develop my ball knowledge and IQ. I have always been passionate about the game, and it gets stronger every time I play, to where now I can also focus on setting myself up for the future. My goal is to not only be the best player I can be, but to be the best leader on and off the court.
