Personal Statement
Playing basketball throughout my life has taught me many things. It has taught me how to be patient, how to be disciplined, and how to stay focused. I was never the most athletic or quickest player on the court and I didn’t always have the highest basketball IQ. But recognizing those weaknesses is why I am who I am today, both as a person and a player.
I have the craziest competitive spirit. So when I recognized I had those weaknesses, I knew I had to get to work if I wanted to go somewhere with this game and in my life. Day after day I strive to become a better athlete than I was the day before. Over the years it has taught me to humble myself, as well as that dedication really does pay off. This is something that has helped me grow as a person and even has helped me put forth my effort in the classroom.
