I have been attending basketball games for as long as I can remember. Before I could walk, my mom had a basketball in my hand. I believe it would be an understatement to say I come from a basketball crazy family. At the age of 6, I stepped onto the court and I have loved the game ever since.
Once I started to play basketball, I aspired to play at the highest level possible and, hopefully, at the collegiate level. Playing basketball in college would be a once in a lifetime opportunity and one that would surely provide opportunities that would positively impact my life.
I have always tried, particularly when I was younger, to set myself apart from my opponents with my ball handling skills. As I developed into a Varsity ball player, through continued hard work, I am confident that I am a strong ball handler and am able to play strong physical defense. I am mentaly tough and have been blessed with a high basketball IQ. As a Captain of the Shadyside Varsity team this past season, I have developed as a team leader and have always tried to lead by example while encouraging my teammates. I am very coachable player and have assisted my AAU coach in leading practice and helping with my teammates. I always strive to be the hardest working player and would be one of the hardest working recruits if afforded that opportunity.
Basketball is a year-round sport for me and I work hard during the off season. I love being in the gym and have been referred to as a “gym rat.” In addition to playing on multiple AAU teams, I train independently year-round, spending hours in the weight room and on the court. I participated in track and field as a 7th, 8th, and 9th grader, but now devote my attention full-time to basketball. I have been a Varsity starter since 9th grade and have been selected as a member of the all-section team for the past 3 years. My proudest accomplishment is being the starting point guard on our 2022 Triple A WPIAL Championship team. Shadyside Academy is one of the top prep schools in the country, and I continually study hard and maintain a high GPA. In addition to my academic commitments, I am a volunteer youth basketball coach in my hometown, and currently develop websites for local businesses, and run paid ads through my digital marketing agency (check me out at www.etimediamarketing.com).
I plan to attend college where I can challenge myself in the classroom and on the basketball court. I am open to all options and ultimately want to find the right college match at the highest level of academic and basketball competition. I want to be a role model to all young people in my community, and of course, I want to make my parents and family proud.
