I have always loved basketball, and it has been a big part of my life. I have gone to the same school my whole life, which is Briarcrest Christian School in Memphis, Tennessee. In middle school I was one of the better players on my team, and I played up on the 7th grade team in 6th grade. When I got to high school i played JV as a freshman. Only 6 kids out of about 18 in my grade were selected to play on JV instead of the freshman team. Then my sophomore year I played varsity and I was the 6th man on my team. I played behind a player who was the leading scorer in the state of Tennessee at one time. Sophomore year really helped me start playing tougher and working harder, but I knew that I needed to challenge myself over the summer in order to reach my goals. I played for M33M during the spring and summer, and trained weekly with my skills development trainer, Kevin Whitted. Coach Whitted played many years in the NBA and is a highly respected trainer in the Memphis area. Along with those things my main goal was to get stronger and gain more weight over the summer. Now, going into my junior year I am hoping to start for my team and play many valuable minutes to help my team win. Junior year is also a big year for me academically, so I will be focusing on keeping my grades up. I am going to continue to work hard be the best student athlete I can be, in order to give myself the best chance to play basketball in college.
