My name is Miles Simms, I am currently a Senior at Cypress Ranch High School. I am a third year Varsity player and team captain. During the 2013-14 HS season my role was “6th man”. I excelled at the shooting guard position and lead the team in scoring several games. During the Summers, with my club team, I worked to improve my ball-handling and my ability to get to the basket in anticipation of the move to point guard.
During the 2014-15 high school season, as the starting point guard ,my ppg have been reduced but I enjoyed my role as facilitator and floor leader. At the conclusion of 6A Region III District 17 play I was 2nd in assists per game @ 3.8 and 3rd in steals @ 2.1. I was named to the All-District team, set school records for assists in a season and assists in game in the teams first playoff appearance and win. I was also named team Co-MVP for the 2014-15 season.
I work hard and play hard but, basketball is not the only thing on my mind. I have always been taught that school comes first and that combination is what I believe separates me from other recruits. I currently have a 3.6 GPA while taking both Honors and AP classes. I am a member of the National Honor Society, Key Club and have been recognized by the 3rd largest school district in the state of Texas for my community service project, Kicks for Kidz.
