- Defense First Basketball Organization was founded on November 10, 2016 by Frank L. Watson. Since it's inception, D1 Houston has become one of the top new grassroots basketball programs in the state of Texas. In addition, D1 Houston's player development and promotion efforts have produced several state ranked players and increased recruitment for diamond in the ruff student-athletes underneath its umbrella. D1 stands for our programs emphasis on playing “Defense First” as a priority. A student-athlete’s college position is defined by his defensive capabilities not solely by his offensive skill set. We take pride in coaching defense and it is emphasized heavily within our practice schedule along with other fundamentals necessary to an aspiring college athlete’s success.

- Each summer players from all corners of the USA have the exclusive opportunity as the official United States delegation to take part in an International Showcase Event in Nassau, Bahamas. In 2018, our teams will compete in the Atlantis Bahamas Tropical Shootout, a special International Basketball Tournament for Boys and Girls. As they proudly wear the USA Uniform, players can expect the stiffest competition ever, as they will test themselves against the talented Bahamian teams, as well as other great players from across the USA. Enjoying all the amenities of the Atlantis Resort and the Aquaventure when not competing, our USA Delegation will experience an adventure of a lifetime!
