I am 17 years old and excited about entering my senior year at HHS and I take great pride in both my academic and athletic achievements. As a Freshman, I was a starting member of the Hornets JV basketball team and earned a starting spot on the Varsity team during my Sophomore year. During my sophomore year, I was also selected for 2nd team All District and Academic All District. In my Junior year I again earned a starting spot on the varsity squad receiving an Honorable Mention and the Hornet Award for Defensive Player of the year. For the past three summers, I have tuned my basketball skills through a starting position with the Team Rim Blazers AAU team. In effort to better my skills, I have also participated in local basketball camps as well as the Future 150 camp. Additionally, I am also very proud of my academic achievements as I am ranked in the Top 10% of my class with a ranking of 24 out of 365 with a 3.975 GPA. I was recently named to the National Society of High School Scholars, am a member of the Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society and the Aririba y Adelante Spanish Honor Society participating in both Advanced placement and dual credit classes. During my junior year, I was inducted into the National Honor Society and subsequently elected as President. This year I was again honored with an invitation to participate in the National Youth Leadership Forum on National Security in Washington, DC and I just finished my second summer internship in the Chemistry Department at Sam Houston State University that was sponsored by the American Chemistry Society Project Seed Program. I am blessed with a strong parental support system and I am committed to my church serving in the Youth Department and Junior Usher Board. Additionally, I enjoy giving back to others as a founding member of the Sigma Delta Service organization at HHS; Health Rocks; and volunteer tutoring. While I aspire to play college basketball, my aspirations also include a college degree with aspirations of being a Corporate Attorney specializing in Sports Management and a commitment to contributing to society in a positive manner. I believe that my heart, hustle and my desire and willingness to be coached are attributes that would make me an asset to any team. My life’s covenant, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13.
