Personal Statement
I am Colin Wade, a versatile guard and scholar athlete out of Uplift North Hills Preparatory in Dallas, Texas. In addition to being the starting guard on my varsity basketball team, I play for 3D Empire (State) in regional and national AAU tournaments, as well.
I thrive in difficult situations, embrace the non-negotiables, and am committed to 1% improvement every day. As coachable as I am versatile, I see the court well, distribute the ball with precision, shoot with confidence, and excel with both left- and right-hand ball control. I create space with my agility, speed, and court awareness.
Committed to improving my craft, I have worked extensively with former NCAA players and NBA coaches/consultants in individual sessions to improve my shooting and ball handling fundamentals and currently work with strength and conditioning, and sports and mental performance coaches.
I love basketball. I work hard. I am a student of the game. I have the skills to thrive – and the humility to learn and improve each and every practice. Just as important, I excel in the classroom and understand the importance of being an ambassador for my team and sport on the court, around campus, and in my coursework.
My coaches will attest to my coachability, work ethic, and servant leadership. My statistics and film speak to my performance. My continued improvement speaks to my hunger for the sport and my commitment to reaching my full potential as a scholar athlete.
Few are as hungry as I am; even fewer work harder - or with more discipline and deliberate reflection.
