Caleb Malik '22 Recruiting Profile

Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard. That's not just a motto to me, but a way of life. I don't hope for success, I work for it.

My name is Caleb Malik and I am a 6'5" 2022 shooting guard with a 3.5 GPA . This is my fourth year on a Varsity high school team, and I have also played for a variety of Austin, TX, area select teams - HCI Storm, Nike Pro Skills, Texas Warriors Elite National, and Austin Wildcats. I also enjoy volunteering every chance I get and have a part-time job as a basketball trainer at Shoot 360 Houston.

While I am extremely competitive, I place a high value on being a good teammate. My team is like my family...we win together and we lose together, we train and get better together, we push each other and celebrate one another. I have been blessed to have outstanding coaching role models that have not only helped improve my basketball skills, but have shown me how to be a better leader through their examples. Although I spend most of my time as either a point or shooting guard, I am also very comfortable in the paint. I do what it takes to help my team win.  For me there is no off-season or cutting corners. I put in the work to get the result - especially on defense.

The classroom has always been my number one priority and academics come first. This dedication to my studies translates directly to the way I play the game of basketball; I pay attention and study each and every game. I watch film and I come prepared to play each and every day. 

Now that it's my senior year, I'm looking forward to the process of making a college choice. I would welcome the opportunity to talk with you more about your program and what I could bring to your team. I'm confident that my passion, dedication and skill would be a positive addition.
