I’m interested in pursuing a civil engineering degree in a school with both good academic and athletic departments.
A couple of years ago basketball was my main priority in life and unconsciously I dedicated more time to it than to school chores but an ankle injury early this year that kept me off the court for about 5 months helped me realize that although basketball is one of my passions in life, school work has to always be there as well.
Now I consider I fit into the description of the NCAA’s term of student-athlete, and I prioritize both the academic level of the school, and the competitiveness of its basketball program.
I am aware that pursuing an engineering degree and playing college basketball at the highest level can each be very demanding on its own, but I am proud of my work ethic both inside and outside the court and I am willing to work as hard as I have to, including taking summer courses or doing whatever needs to be done to make sure that I can dedicate all the time that its needed for the basketball program.
