I have been playing basketball since I was five years old. Since I first stepped on the court, I have aspired to play at the collegiate level. I know that playing in college is a once in a lifetime opportunity that could change my life. As a dual sport athlete (basketball) and soccer), I have learned a lot about myself. Each sport has taught me many lessons that have helped me not only on the court/field, but also outside of sports. In basketball, I've learned the importance of different team roles. It truly takes a team to work together to be successful and it's often the selfless acts of others that helps a team win. For example, although I love scoring points and grabbing rebounds, I get just excited by making an assist, playing really hard nosed defensive, or seeing one of my teammates make a winning play.
I am an excellent communicator, have superior fitness, am a natural born leader, and team organizer.
While I've very committed to basketball, I also have a passion for playing soccer. Similar to basketball, I started playing this sport when I was five years old and since then I've been playing in variety of local leagues and at the high school level. My desire to play basketball at the college level is fueled by my love of the game. My ongoing workouts with a personal basketball trainer for the last three years is indicative of my commitment to be successful in this sport. These workout sessions often happen on both Saturdays and Sundays and sometimes even after soccer games. I have never once questioned why I work so hard and I know that my hard work is going to pay off. I've been successful by being named the captain of my team and even being recognized as the one player that did whatever it took to put the team first. In addition, my coach recognized me as being consistent and being the person that could always calm the team in challenging scenarios while on the court. I love being able to showcase my athletic ability and versatility, by playing multiple positions such as a guard, wing, and forward.
In summary, I am a very disciplined, dedicated and coachable student athlete, as evidenced by my accolades in sports and in the classroom. I'm extremely proud of my success in the classroom (4.4 GPA) and have only missed three days of school since 2019. I am known for my punctuality, positive attitude, organizational skills, and generally a fun person to be around.
