Devin Thomas '16 Recruiting Profile

My name is Devin Thomas and I am a junior at George Mason High School in Falls Church,VA. I am interested in continuing basketball at the next level. I have dedicated myself to doing the things that will help me be a candidate to do so. I consider myself to be the ultimate team first guy. I believe my defensive skill set sets me apart from others. I love playing defense and I believe it shows in my play. My role this season has been to be the defensive stopper for our team. On the season I have started all 25 games helping lead us to a record of 24 - 1 on our way to a perfect 16 - 0 district record and Bull Run District Season Champs. From there we won the Bull Run District Tournament and the Conference 35 championship. In the 25 games I have averaged 4.2 steals per game. I have a pass first mentality and always look for the teammate with the best look. The success of our team is first and foremost in the way in which I chose to play and was recognized through my coaches by honoring me with this seasons "Coaches award". On the offensive side I can score and am averaging 3.9 points per game on an average of 6.7 shots per game. I enjoy practicing and still train outside of my team during the season on weekends as I have for the last 3 years. I am a very coachable individual and always play within myself. I lift weights in a class at my school called championship training. I have been raised to understand that hard work is a must in every part of what we do and to apply it everyday. I am always looking to improve myself both mentally and physically. I am also 3 sport athlete at our school with my participation in golf, basketball and baseball.
