Dear College Coaches,
My name is DaShawn Zamel Birchmore. My goals is to get an athletic and academic scholarship. I'm a hard working student looking to succeed in everything I do. Even though I can't succeed in everything, I was told to never quit. I found that very important because you never know how close you are to what you want. One thing that makes me different from others is that I play basketball for the love of the game. One of the reason I have is to help others that took care of me and those who are in need. Those things pushes me to the max when I'm in the class room and on the court. My grandmother hasn't been working and has been out of a job for a long time. As I watch her she sometimes feels depressed and sad. When she does it gets to my heart, which makes me want to strive even more. As time flies the older she's gets. Therefore I just want to put a smile on her face and be a role model to my younger brothers. The best part of all of this is when my grandmother comes to all my games to watch me play. Even when I have a bad game she would say "come here my big grandson" and tells me "I just have to work hard next time". That encourages me to look at the mistakes I made and allowing me to fix them. My father was never around me or supported me. Knowing that and having to deal with that drives my motivation. Then to see my mother be strong taking care of my two brothers and I is amazing. My mother is in the military on active duty orders. Being a military child at times can be difficult. From relocating, to switching schools consistently, to making friends all over again and, missing my mother when she goes away on long deployments. I was blessed to have a mother like her therefore I wanna be strong like her and better myself to go to college and play the game I love for them. I just want to take the time out to thank any coach/coaches who took the time out to view see my profile.
