Michael Mendicino '16 Recruiting Profile

From the earliest days I can remember first playing basketball, I have always wanted to become the best player I could be.  During junior high school, I realized that in order to compete at the highest levels, a player needs to dedicate himself to the game in a way that exceeds the training of his competition.  From the 6th grade on, I have pushed myself year-round to explore the outer boundaries of my game, constantly trying to find the places where I am uncomfortable so that I could master them and move on.  Since that time, aside from pursuing excellence in the classroom, I have poured all of my passion into the game of basketball with the goal of competing in the NCAA.  I truly believe that my work ethic has permitted me to become a very effective scoring point guard who makes his team, and his teammates, better.

Last year, I transferred to the Seton School in Manassas, Virginia, where I was the team's starting point guard throughout my 11th grade season.  I averaged approximately 11 points and roughly 4 assists per game and was honored with a First Team All Conference selection at the end of the season.  

Following the conclusion of my junior season, I started off-season training in March and continued right through to the start of tryouts for my senior season.  I am looking forward to improving on last year's performance in my senior year.

I am planning to pursue a liberal arts degree in college and hope to attend law school after graduation.  I am convinced that I can be an asset to any college program and look forward to continuing my development as a player in the NCAA.
