Graeme Majors '17 Recruiting Profile

I consider myself to be a true point guard with a high basketball IQ.  I am able to see the floor well and my goal is to play at the Division I level. I have played the point position since I was 5 years old.  I can play other positions, but I am most comfortable with the ball in my hands.  Ball handling, distribution and shooting are my strengths.  I have quick feet and shoot the ball really well.

From my Head Coach at Oak Hill:

The purpose of this letter is to introduce to you a multi-talented basketball player who is also a good student. He is currently a high school senior; he will be attending college in the fall of 2017. His name is Graeme Majors, and I am his coach and teacher.

Graeme was the starting point guard on our NACA (National Association of Christian Athletes) National Championship team in April 2016. Graeme is extremely secure with the ball; he is an excellent dribbler and passer; but he is an even better 3-point shooter. He has outstanding range, and he is one of the very best shooters that I’ve ever coached (and I’ve coached scholarship athletes at Oregon, Rhode Island, Oakland University, DePaul, Bowling Green, Iona and others). He is the best high school point guard I’ve ever coached. He is athletic (good jumper), quick and fast.

Graeme is an excellent 3-point shooter with a quick release who also has the ability and determination to drive and dunk within the half court offense. He is a smart and capable defender both on and off the ball. Graeme is mentally tough and he always plays to win.

Graeme has excellent seriousness of purpose and he plays and practices with a sense of urgency. He makes plays on both ends of the court. Our varsity basketball team here at Oak Hill Academy finished 24-3 in 2016, and Graeme has played a major role. He is a team captain who sets the tone for our team in practices and games. He is trustworthy and dependable. He is a pleasure to coach.

Graeme is also a good student in my U.S. Government class. He is articulate and shows good insight into complex issues. He is an evidence-based critical thinker. Oak Hill Academy is a private boarding school with a large international student population. Graeme is extremely well-liked and well-respected among faculty and students. I recommend Graeme without reservation as an excellent student-athlete.
