My name is Vaughn Cougar Holstad and I'm from Pullman, WA, home of the Washington State University Cougars. My middle name is in honor of my family's love for the Cougs and I come from a long line of WAZZU grads/fans.
I'm a multi-sport athlete playing basketball, football and baseball for many years. In Middle School, I was also on the track & field team where I still hold the school record for the 100-meter (11.85) and shot put (43' 5").
I have been playing basketball since I was 4 years old when I first started playing on Parks & Rec teams.
In early 2021 when I was 12, I was asked to join my first AAU team, Inland Elite. I played on this winning team until 2023 when I was 15 and High School ball started.
In 7th & 8th grades I was a starter on the Middle School Varsity team.
As a Freshman in High School, I was a starter on the JV team and also suited-up for Varsity as well (seeing playing time in 5 Varsity games my Freshman year).
During the winter of 2023, the coach for Hooptown Elite (based out of Spokane, WA) asked me to join their 15U national travel team which plays in the Under Armour Circuit. Tournaments are in: Salt Lake City, Auburn, WA (my team won our division), Cincinnati, Atlanta & Chicago.
I have attended the WSU Basketball Camp multiple times over the years when I was 9, 10, 13 and 14 years old.
I have also played in Spokane's Hoopfest 3v3 Tournament 3 years (my team took 2nd place in the Freshmam Elite Division in 2023). In 2023, I also played in Pullman's Lentil Festival 3v3 tournament (my team took 1st place in their division in 2023).
