Gabriel Contreras '19 Recruiting Profile

Well, what makes me a good candidate on a team would be my personality, character and my work ethic. I am not a negative person and I can bring a positive vibe to a team.  I may not be the strongest or the fastest, but I’ll give you everything that I have to offer whether it’s skills, a leader, or just being a listener.  I have no problem following directions and being told what is expected of me. In academics, I always strive to do the best I can be and never settling for less. If I do not understand something I will ask for additional help from the teacher or stay after hours to understand the information I need to know in order to exceed in the classroom. In athletics, I care more about winning than personal agendas. If my teammates open for the layup, but I think I can make the shot to win the game, I’m going to make the right play and pass to my teammate. I have dreams and aspirations to play D1 college basketball. And whatever I lack, I want to learn how to better myself, and overcome the challenges I need to meet my short term goal in playing D1 college basketball.
