Will Kellerman '15 Recruiting Profile

Hi Coach, my name is Will Kellerman, I am a 6'3" (41% long range!) shooting guard from Verona, WI.  I have been a varsity starter for Verona since my Sophomore year. I have scored over 500 varsity points.  Verona plays in Madison's Big Eight Conference which is a D1 conference in WI, and I was named All Conference Honorable Mention in 2014. 

Above I mention being a long range shooting guard.  But halfway through my junior season, I was asked to switch to point guard to help our team.  I'd like to think that as a result we won 7 of our next 8 games even beating the #1 seed Madison Memorial in the playoffs.  Coach, think about the advantage I would give your college team if defenders have to tightly guard me 25' from the basket because if they don't then 41% of the time it costs them 3 points.  That means one less defender bothering your post players.  One less defender in the lane helping on dribble penetration.  One less defender getting rebounds.  (check out my NCSA certified video to confirm my range noting I shot 45-for-109 or 41% from 3pt as a Soph varsity starter!!). 

I think this past season has made me a better defender (you have to be a good defender in a conference where each team has at least 1 Division 1 recruit!)  I'm committed to the spring and summer season not only playing AAU ball, but working on ball handling skills, dribble drive skills, pull up jump shots and lateral quickness to improve my man-to-man defense.
