Personal Statement
I think that I could bring great success to a team by hustling, playing good defense, and by being an offensive playmaker. I think what makes me different from other athletes is that I am always looking to be the leader of my team. My coach that lead me from 2nd grade to 8th grade always told my team, "Offense wins games but defense wins championships". So I'm always trying to be the best I can on defense whether its boxing out, breaking down to a guy, diving for loose balls, or going for a steal, I try to play fundamental defense.
Ever since I was 6 years old and I stepped on the court I fell in love with the game. I have a great attitude that makes me a very coachable player. I am always looking for opportunities to better myself on and off the court, not just as a player but a person as well. When I come down the court with the ball I'm not thinking to myself whether I'm going to get the ball stolen from me but what I can do to get my team in a scoring position. My phy ed teacher once told me that you can only be as good as your team is, therefore, to win games it takes not just me, but my whole team.
My goals are to play basketball throughout college and maybe even further on my basketball career. I want to find a college that doesn't just suit me but my athletic abilities. I hope to succeed with what I choose to do in life and be a valuable asset to a team in the future.
