Ava Washburn '23 Recruiting Profile

I am proud to say that I've set high expectations for myself.  Whether it be my desire to succeed in sports, my ambition to be at the top of my class, or simply to make my community proud, I am prepared to put in the work necessary to achieve my goals.  I've always wanted to learn the answer to every question, and my curiosity is what pushes me to become a better student.  I have an internal drive and love of competition that has fueled my desire on the Track. Having a Professional athlete for a Dad, an All-American Mom and brothers that play D1 college baseball has also shaped my upbringing and help teach me valuable lessons about work ethic, sportsmanship and character.  However, my aspirations are not only limited to sports, and I am hoping to attend a University where I can find a balance of a high education and continue my growth competing on the Track.  Being from a rural town in Northwest WI where the closest indoor track is over an hour away and sometimes we still get snow into May, is just part of the reason I believe that there is a lot of potential for future growth on the Track.  I'm eager to explore the possibilities and not afraid to start the journey.
