Personal Statement
I started diving for my summer club, for fun, when I was 10 years old, and quickly developed a passion for the sport. I joined a competitive team at 12 years old and realized that this was a sport I wanted to work hard at. Since then, I've been dedicated to my training, being focused and disciplined and applying corrections to improve each day. I have been working diligently to improve and reach my fullest potential. My favorite position is inward.
Because of my love of the sport, I strive to continue diving at the collegiate level. Diving has taught me much. I’ve learned to have drive and discipline, which has translated to other areas of my life such as my education. I’ve learned leadership skills, as I’ve gotten older, leading the younger kids on my club team by example, exhibiting a strong work ethic and a positive attitude. This summer I coached a swim club dive team. I had kids from 8 – 16 years old on my team and was able to share my passion and knowledge of the sport. It was really fun to see things from the coaching perspective and I hope to share my passion and knowledge of the sport again in the future.
I have competed in USA, AAU, and High School meets. I was 6th place in both 1 and 3M at AAU Nationals in 2021 competing in the 15-year-old age group. I was 3rd in the state last year for the High School state dive meet. I have not had the opportunity to do platform in some time, due to lack of local facilities. However, when I did compete platform at a younger age, I was successful and I look forward to competing on platform in college.
You will not find anyone who works harder, is more dedicated, or is an easier athlete to coach. I hope to bring my talent and skills to your program and to learn everything I can from you as a college coach.
When I’m not diving, I love to spend time with family and friends and participate in any outdoor activities, such as skiing, hiking, ultimate frisbee, golf, and fishing. I’m always up for trying new things if given the opportunity.
