I believe my dedication to diving and commitment to hard work will make me a strong collegiate diver. Prior to high school, I was a diver in our city summer league and a gymnast for five years. We do not have a Club dive team in Madison, which is surprising for a city with such a large university. When I was a freshmen, I found out about Schroeder Dive Team, the club team in Milwaukee. Although it's 90 miles away, I was really excited to find out that there was a club team I could dive with. I started diving with Schroeder in the spring of 2019 and it's a lot of travel, but I love training and competing with them. Having to travel so much has really made me appreciate the opportunity that I’ve been given and the excellent coaching I receive. I work hard to make the most of every practice.
I also do my best to challenge myself and work hard in my classes. During high school, many of my classes have been honors or AP courses. I’ve really had to learn how to balance my time between school and diving, which will help me be successful in college as well.
I am proud that my coaches tell me that I am very coachable. I am a pretty happy person and always try to be positive, with my teammates, my coaches and myself. Challenging myself is important and I won’t shy away from hard work on the boards or in the classroom. I am excited to dive in college!
