I have played golf for 12 years starting when I was four. Through these years, I have been dedicated to not only improving my game but also improving myself as a person. I attend Carlsbad High School where I balance playing golf at a competitive level, taking honors/AP courses and participating in ASB. Golf has been able to teach me life skills like patience and perseverance to make me a stronger player and person. I also play on Carlsbad High School’s varsity Boys golf team, where as a Sophomore,I was selected to the second team for all of Avocado West league and our team finished second place in the Division 1, Avocado West league. Being on a team has made me a leader and a team player. But perhaps one of the most important things that has happened to me was not making state for CIF as an individual. This has made me reevaluate my entire golf career. It has made me work much harder and grind out the extra hours of practice so I am at the point where I know I can make it to state in my final two years of high school. My perseverance and work ethic have helped bring my game to the next level. I am committed and ready to play golf at the college that is the right academic and athletic fit for me. I will not let my team, my coach or myself down either academically or athletically.
