I have been blessed in my life with a wonderful family, and great friends, both of whom, have
influenced my love for the sport of golf.
Learning how to play Golf has had a big influence on who I am as a person. I was first
introduced to golf when I was in 5th grade when my grandfather took out me to play a round for
the first time. From that first moment I loved everything about the game; the ability to be
outdoors, the need to be self-reliant, disciplined and mentally tough. My grandfather taught me
everything about the game and the appropriate rules of etiquette. I was lucky enough to attend
the Masters in 2018 – wow exciting!
Over the last seven years of playing golf, I have gained increased confidence as I have performed
at a higher level every year. At the academic level, I understand that achieving top grades in high
school can provide me with good options for colleges. My goal would be to achieve good grades
and my golf skills to secure a spot on a college golf team where I could contribute to the success
of the organization while building a valuable skill set for the workplace post-graduation. Being a
pro-golfer is an option I would consider if I performed well enough in college but having a
useful degree will be the critical focus of my college years. One of the biggest obstacles I have
had to overcome is learning how to be consistent in golf tournaments under pressure. A unique
thing about me is that on my sixth game of golf, on a par three course, I scored a hole in one – I
have been hooked on the game ever since that day!
