Personal Statement

My name is Andre Zhang, and I am a sophomore at Davis Senior High School (class of 2024). I have over 11 years of experience playing and enjoying the game, and I have been playing competitively for 5 years. I am a hard worker who is not satisfied until something has been done correctly and close to perfection. I spend large amounts of time on the golf course to improve my swing and sharpen my game. However, I also recognize the importance of academics and education. I work hard to excel in school and challenge myself with difficult classes. I want to play golf for a university that offers an excellent education and produces successful students.

Shot 72-75-76 to finish T13. Course rating 74.1, 6909 yards. Played pretty well but was struggling off with my driver. Course played tougher than it would normally be, with several brutal pin locations on rounds 2 and 3.

Shot 80-71-74 +9 to finish T19. Course par 72, rating 74.9. The first and second rounds were played on the same day. Played pretty well, but made the mistake of keeping a swing change in the first round; ended up dropping the swing change in the second round.
