Blake Mitchell '17 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing golf since I was 3 years old and it has become profoundly clear to me that it is my passion to take my love of golf to a much higher level.   I have made tremendous improvement in my game over the last few months especially in my mental toughness and acuity. I recently placed 8th at an AJGA Preview in Ocala, FL and 3rd in HJGT Northern California Jr. Classic in Stockton, CA.   I have been training and practicing rigorously and have the determination to perform well in my scheduled international, national and state tournaments this summer.    

I am a team leader and have a great sense of directing a team to achieve one common goal.  My HS Coach has already appointed me as a team captain next year.  I pioneered, researched and developed the Robotics Club in Palma HS and took it to its inaugural 1st Place victory at "First Tech Challenge" and also Judges Award in a Regional competition out of 48 teams. 

I am looking for a university with rigorous academics and a competitive golf team.  My career aspiration is to become a mechanical engineer and design energy efficient cars for a global economy.   I am interested in a highly ranked automotive mechanical engineering program while playing golf to continue the competitive edge to excel.  My GPA is 4.04 with a recent PSAT test score of 1240 (new SAT scale).
