My name is Dylan Ryan and I have an incredible story to tell. Unlike most junior golfers, I don't have all of the accolades and tournament wins or even a junior ranking. While I know that is big deal to most, the reason I don't have those accomplishments yet is that I've spent the last 2 years fighting for my life. In February of 2021 after successfully making the Cathedral Catholic High School golf team as a freshman, a week later I was diagnosed with AML Leukemia. I battled cancer through 3 rounds of intensive chemotherapy and eventually received a new gift at life from a bone marrow transplant donor. Through all of that, my love for the game of golf never ceased, even in the darkest moments.
Now that my health is back on track (as well as my swing), I have been recently medically cleared to play high school golf at Scripps Ranch High School in San Diego, CA. I am also working with Adam Porzak, one of the premier junior golf coaches in the US to prepare me for tournament golf and fulfill my desire to play in college. While I currently may not have the pedigree or the stats, I have a great swing and the mental determination and work ethic to succeed. I can 100% assure you if given the opportunity I will have an amazingly positive impact on your program. I know in my heart that if I can get through cancer, I can reach my goal of playing collegiate golf.
