Davis DeSouza '21 Recruiting Profile

Hi my name is Davis deSouza. I have a strong desire to play collegiate golf.  As a rising senior, golf has always played a huge role in my life. Ive been playing since I was 3 years old. Im a fierce competitor, and my coaches describe me as one who holds composure under pressure, controlled focus, athletic, honest, respectful, using proper practice with a game plan, and having the desire to be a team player at all times. 

This year, I was planning on really honing in on my game even further, by signing up for as many tournaments, only to be cancelled by Covid-19. Now that golf has opened up a bit, ive been playing at my home corse The Olympic Club and await the tournaments in the months to come. At my high school, I held the #1 position as a junior before Covid, and really worked hard on maintaining my good grades.  Even though things are different now with the pandemic, I'm still maintaining my positive outlook and adjusting to the best of my knowledge. 

Outside golf, I have played football as well. My football background has contributed to my golf success by adding mental toughness, balance, strength, coordination, desire, ambition and passion. I am also a dedicated student taking honors classes and working hard to maintain my 3.9 GPA. at St Ignatius College Preparatory, which is known for its challenging and rigorous academics, as well as its supportive community and upholding values of being a whole person. 

I am passionate about golf and looking for a college where I believe the academic environment, tight-knit community, and strong athletic program will be a good match for me. I look forward and am willing to contribute and make a difference to a school community and help the golf team achieve its goals.
