Maddox Ketelaar '26 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Maddox Ketelaar and I am in the graduating class of 2026 from Saddlebrook Preparatory School in Wesley Chapel, Florida.  My goal is to attend a college or university that is highly competitive both academically and athletically for men’s golf.   Attending a Boarding School is helping me lay a strong foundation of work ethic, personal independence, and time management in the classroom and on the golf course.  Throughout elementary and middle school I maintained a high level of academic success and played multiple sports since I was five years old, including baseball, basketball and American football and believe that I am coachable player that wants to continue to get better.  I was the basketball team Captain for my middle school team, was selected to the District All Star baseball team for four years in a row and received the Coaches Award for my middle school golf team in 7^th and 8^th grade and finished my school team golf career as the NH D1 District Champion.

My golf game will only get better as I grow physically and mentally as a junior golfer in the years to come and my best playing is still in front of me.   My school and golf schedule allows me to train 20+ hours per week as I follow the Saddlebrook Golf Academy program which mirrors most college athletic/academic schedules.  In addition, I practice another 10+ hours on my own working on all facets of the game and physical conditioning  to help lower my tournament scores and keep improving.  Being a member of both the Saddlebrook Student Council and the Spartan Ambassador program are giving me valuable leadership experience that I hope to bring to my college golf team, my community, and beyond.   To this point in my High School career I am proud that I have earned a 4.20 G.P.A after my Freshman year and will look to build on this going forward.   I became a Champion on the Florida Junior Tour (April 2023) with a sudden death playoff win in Vero Beach, FL, an accomplishment I am very proud of and hope get many more in the years to come.
