My name is Jacob Adams and I live in the small town of Cleveland, Georgia. Being from a small town has allowed me to create a great support structure of family and friends. Our small community has supported me academically, socially and spiritually. My family is very important to me and has supported me along the way in pursuing my goals I have set for myself.
I want to compete on the college level on a competitive team. I have not had very much in the way of lessons and coaching so I know that I have things to work on but I have dedicated myself to be the best player I can even without all the trappings of lessons, coaches, etc. I feel that this does give me an advantage in some ways however. I have had to work harder at times and with sometimes limited resources, I have had to be creative in my practice sessions. I have had to learn time management skills, and become resourceful in the front yard and the local driving range. Also not having a constant coach has allowed me to be flexible in my game development.
My personality is very laid back but I am very aware of doing things the right way and making sure I get the most out of myself and my abilities. I am my hardest critic and am not satisfied with being just a good golfer. I want to be a great golfer and not let my lack of being a country club kid, multiple swing coaches, etc.; keep me from being a great golfer.
I have been successful in the normal high school golf competitions and when possible, I have played in various junior golf tournaments. I realize that if I want to play at the next level I have to play in higher level tournaments. That is something that me and my family are working on for this upcoming spring and summer.
I am a team player and want those around me to be successful as well. I take coaching well and am willing to try different things to improve my game. I feel that with my abilities and determination, with the right program I can develop into the great player that I want to be and help my team become a better team in the process.
