My first swing of a golf club happened when I was 8 years old. I was surprised how much I liked it and how natural it felt. Growing up I concentrated on soccer, basketball and baseball, golf was something I did a couple of times a year. Then in the Fall of 2019, I played in my first PGA Jr League. I immediately fell in love with the team competition, and I found out I was surprisingly good at it. Golf became my priority.
I started taking swing lessons in 2020 and playing in competitive tournaments in the summer (2021) before my freshman year of high school. I remember being so nervous teeing off at my first tournament. Playing some of the top golfers in the area gave me a ton of experience, I watched how they approached different shots and how they managed the course. That experience made tryouts for my high school team much easier, and I am proud that I secured the varsity slot to start the freshman season.
After a successful freshman season, I earned all-conference recognition, and my team won our conference championship. Unfortunately, I had a poor round at Regionals, and seeing some of my teammates head to Sectionals without me, drove me to prepare and work hard on my game during the offseason.
Some key information on me:
-I have a very strong work ethic that has allowed my game to develop quickly.
-I currently work with Pat Lenski ([email protected]) as my Swing Coach and continue to work hard to develop all aspects of my game.
- My current handicap is a 0.5 through CDGA system. I am proud of how much I have been able to bring my handicap down with consistent play this past year.
- My high school season is off to a great start. I shot a four under 67 at my first invite of the year, winning the event and leading my team to a fifth-place finish.
I had a successful Sophomore and Junior golf season. My scores continued to drop and I was All-Conference and voted MVP of my team both years. I also ended my Junior golf season as Golfer of the Year in my conference, led my team to a 2nd place finish and made it to Sectionals for the second year in a row.
Looking past my high school career, my aim is to play competitive college golf at a college or university that offers an opportunity to further my education. I believe I will be a great college teammate by being an asset to my teammates on and off the course. I want to score on the course, but I also want my team to win. I am looking to join a golf program where I have the opportunity to play right away and in as many events as possible.
My strengths include length of the tee, 3-wood, mid- & long- irons, and clutch putting. I need to work on distance control with my wedges.
