Greetings!
I am a 6’1” and 185 pound righty golfer with goals to major in Chinese studies and minor in international business, play college golf, and to eventually become a Chinese translator. I am a good candidate for any team since I am a hard worker, I am sociable and great with my teammates, and I will do whatever is asked of me by the coaches. I am extroverted and I have been told by friends I am great at making people feel comfortable. I am not afraid to try new things or make mistakes. I love the team aspect of sports and I am hoping to play with a tightly knit team in college. Academically I have a 3.99 weighted GPA, 1230 SAT, and I have been accepted into the National Honors Society.
I started to play golf during my freshman year in high school. Frankly, I struggled with golf, carding rounds in the mid to high 90s. However, my competitive spirit and desire to succeed fueled my drive to improve. I practiced hard the following summer and ended up shooting a few rounds in the low to mid 80s during my high school sophomore season. This past spring when Covid-19 cancelled our baseball season and my focus changed to 100% golf. I played golf a lot, went to a few tournaments, and was able to score a few rounds in the low to mid 80s. I even shot a 79 in a non-tournament round. This past fall, my junior season, I was the second golfer on varsity and this past summer, I have participated in the PrepTour tournaments, and you can see my results on their website.
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile page. If you have watched my video, I hope that you picked up on the hard work that I have put into my game. I have always been making adjustments to my swing, but many as of late. I have been fixing my swing path to not go over the top, I have been practicing keeping my head still, and working on having good tempo. I have been working harder now more than ever, playing every day and when I cannot play I am exercising. I have always been determined to succeed in everything I do, and golf is no exception. I am a very social person and I always try to play or practice with someone else. I also love the team aspect of sports, even in golf. On my high school team its easy to get very selfish and individual and only play for yourself. At the end of the day though the team takes the four top scores to see who will win. That's what keeps me motivated to play well and it always has through baseball and golf.
Again, thank you for taking the time to check out my profile page.
