2023 Highlights Personal Statement
Hello coaches, my name is Mason Smyser. My collegiate goals are to be a D1 golfer on scholarship, but my dreams are to be a professional golfer. I never hesitate to try and help teammates when they have problems, whether it’s with school or golf. My favorite thing to do is work on my golf game because I want it to be the best it can be. I also just work hard at anything I do which is also why I get good grades. Thank you for your time! I look forward to talking with you!

- This was my first time in a state tournament. I shot a -4 on the front nine, but ended up shooting a +1, 73. The second day I shot a +6, 78. The conditions were cold and windy, and at some times there was rain. I got tenth in the state as an individual and my team got second place.

- I was familiar with this course. I shot a +4, 74 and got third place as an individual and led my team to a second place.

- This was also at my home course. I got second place to my teammate, by one stroke, Aidan Dorathy with a score of -1, 70.

- This was one of the biggest high school tournaments of the season, and many of the schools were larger than ours. I got second as an individual with a +1, 73 and led my team got first place.

- This was my home course and my third high school event for the year. I got first place and shot a -3, 68, the lowest round of my life. My team broke the previous 18 hole school record by six with a 282.

- Shot 80 the first day at Pinnacle with an eight on the last hole. Shot 73 the next day and tied for the lowest round of the day. Ended up getting third place.
