Personal Statement
During my 2019 freshman year, I was only one of two Freshman to advance as a non-team individual to the IHSAA State Golf Tournament. I played in the Number 1 position at KHS in every match in the 2019 season, including 12 dual matches and 5 tournaments. I won six of my twelve dual matches with a low score of 33, 2nd at Sectionals, 5th at Regionals, and I was named all North Central Conference. At the Rock Hollow sectionals, I shot 78 (+6) to advance to the Regionals. At the Plymouth Regional at Swan lake Golf Course, I punched my ticket to the state finals with a 74 (+2) with a birdie on the last hole to miss the 6 man playoff. At the IHSAA State Finals, I didn’t play my best and finished 85th to wrap up my freshman year.
My Sophomore year was cancelled due to the pandemic.
I started my 2021 season playing very well. I won the Warsaw Invitational (15 teams), with a score of 72 (+1) at Stonehenge golf club, in very windy conditions. I followed up with another 72 (+1) to finish second individually in the logansport Invitational. At the Howard County Invitational, I shot 74 to win by one shot. I was named all North Central Conference for the second time. At Sectionals, I finished 2nd with a 76 (+4) at Rock Hollow to help take our team into the Regional Championship. At the Swan lake Regionals, I shot 75 (+3) to edge my way out individually for the second time. In the IHSAA Boys State Finals, I finished 31st with scores of (80,76) (+12) to wrap up a memorable junior season. I ended up winning 6 of my 11 dual matches, and held the #1 spot the whole season.
