Kyle Kauffman '14 Recruiting Profile

My name is Kyle Kauffman, and I am a senior at Mt. Pleasant Community High School in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.  I am a competitive individual who was heavily involved in multiple sports while growing up, but when a medical diagnosis limited my participation in contact sports, I turned to golf to help fulfill my competitive desires.  As time progressed, I found that golf became a place in my life where I could relax and enjoy the game, as well as challenge myself to be the best that I could be.

I feel that I have a great amount of potential and am willing to work hard in order to improve my skills on a daily basis.  I also bring a great attitude and a positive presence to the table.  I take pride in being a leader, and as an upperclassmen I will continue to utilize those skills in order to help my team achieve the goals of the upcoming season, which are to win our conference, and put ourselves in a position to qualify for the state  meet.  As an individual, improving my skills and showing continued progress throughout the rest of my high school career is extremely important to me. Our high school golf season is in the spring, so this fall I am working on my swing consistency, and short game, as well as paying specific attention to my course management skills. I am currently employed with the Mt. Pleasant Golf and Country Club, and work regularly mowing and maintaining the course to meet the requirements of the course superintendent.

In the classroom, I strive to be a person of high character and integrity as well as maintain a high GPA.  As I look toward my future, I have a strong desire to go to college at a place where I can get a quality education, play golf at a high level, and become a contributing member to the communities that I reside in.  Ultimately, I see myself working in some aspect of the golf industry as I have truly developed a passion for the game and would love to be able to be involved in the sport in many more ways than just playing.  I look forward to the opportunities ahead of me and am ready to face the challenges that they will present.
