Personal Statement
I am currently a Junior, attending Southeast of Saline High School in Gypsum Kansas. I rank within the top 25 in my class, with a G.P.A. of 3.67 out of 4. I am 5’9” and weigh 132 lbs.
I have always been close to the First Tee program, as I was once a student, and am now a Coach. I love the environment that we as coaches try to make for the kids and I hold strongly to the belief that if my coaches weren't as enthusiastic and caring as they were when I was a student, I wouldn't have the same love for the game that I do now. I want to spark a love for the game of golf in our students much like my coaches did for me. Through this program I have learned many values such as Honesty, Integrity, Responsibility, Respect, Courtesy, Sportsmanship, Judgment, Perseverance, and Confidence. These are what we call our core values. I make it a goal to include a variety of these values into every session with the kids, and every training session I have.
My strengths include iron and wedge play. My goals for this year include improving my consistency in scoring, along with committing to a more process-oriented style of play. I hold strong to many of Gary Player's main points in fitness as I do yoga for 30-40 minutes a day along with a work-out program 3 days a week. I also make sure to get chiropractic adjustments at least once a week to keep my spine as healthy as it can be, for as long as possible.
Even though my account says I am interested in a medical/business career, I am also considering going down the same path as my coach, Randy Syring, who is in the Golf Hall of Fame, and is currently a collegiate coach.
As much as I know I can stand out on the course, I also know I can stand out in the classroom. I want to take my passion for golf as far as I can, and I am willing to go above and beyond both on and off the course. I am looking to be part of a competitive golf program with a coach who can help me get to the next level.
I look forward to hearing from you and want to further discuss potential playing opportunities in 2024 and beyond.
Regards,
Dylan Esch
