Alexander Bassel '20 Recruiting Profile

Dear Coaches:

I am a servant and humble leader that works diligently at both my academic and athletic career at Lexington Christen High School (LCA), in Lexington KY.   

I am currently a Junior at LCA, and my GPA to date is 3.7/4.0, with many honors classes. 

Our golf season just ended, as I continued to play on LCA’s Top 5 varsity golf team. This Fall our team at LCA was ranked 11th in the country.

At the state championship, on the last day at state I shot one under. 71, and our team finished 3rd.  The same team had won the State Championship over St Xavier (Justin Thomas's HS) the previous year. 

Post golf season, I continue to work diligently on my academics and my swing, with a goal of playing college golf after high school graduation in 2020.

I am also working hard to do my homework on college golf programs that are well rounded in both academics and athletics.

To summarize where I am at in my pursuits:

• My LCA academic GPA is a 3.8  and I am on a path for academic scholarship, a benefit as that offers a mix of academic and athletic support.

• My scoring average this year as a Junior  for High School Golf was 73.5, and working hard with Heather Broadbent, my swing coach,  to keep improving.

• I play on the team that re won the Kentucky H.S. state championship by three strokes ahead of Saint Xavier.

• I plan on taking the ACT this spring 

In addition to high school golf, I play AJGA, Hurricane, and Golf week tournaments.  I also travel to Monterey, California and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, to play and practice during the off season.

I am super excited for this upcoming spring as I have been TPI training during the winter, adding weight and swing speed!
