My goal as a student-athlete is first and foremost to find a college at which I can obtain a top education that will lead me to a job in the future. I have stayed very focused on my academics and have accumulated high grades over the past two years. In addition to my academic focus, I am working towards being able to play golf at a top-quality school.
I am a member of the Varsity golf, basketball, and baseball teams. My GPA is 4.40, and I am a member of the National Honor Society as well as the National Spanish, Math, and Business Honor Societies, a School Committee Student Representative, a member of the Principal’s Student Advisory Council, a member of the Scituate High School Athletics Committee, and a participant on the Math Team.
If you ask me what I love though, the answer is golf. Having started playing golf the summer before my freshman year, my nine-hole scores were in the 60s. I was able to play and practice a lot that summer and made the JV team. From then on, golf has been my favorite sport, and I’ve worked hard to improve.
Last summer I competed in both NEPGA and US Challenge Cup tournaments. I finished 5th overall in the NEPGA standings. This past golf season, I helped lead my varsity team to a 10-1 record and a Patriot League Championship. I was voted a Patriot League All-Star and named Patriot Ledger All-Scholastic. I finished the season by competing in the Massachusetts High School Championship.
I currently have a 2.3 handicap, and my USGA GHIN scoring average is 76.1. I have played in several US Challenge Cup, Mass Golf, and NEPGA Elite Tour tournaments this summer.
The potential to compete in golf at the collegiate level is very exciting to me. I am looking forward to finding a school with a mix of both golf and great academics.
