Personal Statement
As a young child, I’ve always been holding a golf club in my hand. My father has always steered me in the right direction to make myself a better, more composed player. Golfing has made me patient on and off the course. Something that I have learned through playing golf is it makes you visualize more on the following shot and not dwell on the shot you just hit. As an avid +1.5 golfer, I strive to make myself focus more on what’s ahead and not look at the past; This faculty makes me a more complete player.
In my roller coaster of a High School academic career, has an impeccable performance going on right now entering my junior year. Freshman year was a tough transition from my small K-8 school in Princeton, MA. To going now to Saint John’s High School. I didn’t think differently about the switching of schools, I used the same methods in middle school for High school. Well, it didn’t pan out the way I thought, finishing with a 2.65 GPA Freshman year is tough. Over the summer when I wasn’t golfing I would do extra school work to keep my brain thinking over the summer break. This hard work throughout the school year propelled me to a 3.7 GPA. This jump is almost unheard of in an academic sense. This drive that I have makes me the person that I am today. The passion I have to be the best player on and off the course makes me a great fit for any college program.
