In college I aspire to continue my career in both golf and the classroom. When it comes down to things that are important to me like school and golf, I am persistent, dedicated, and thorough in what I do, which will make me an attractive applicant and golf team member. I currently balance a very busy schedule which involves academics, sports, work and volunteering. My work ethic on the golf course never waivers. I work day in and day out on the golf course, striving to improve my game. Practice usually consists of 45 minutes to an hour of range session followed by working on my short game. I often then head out on to the course and play 18 holes.
More important than my golf achievements are my academics. I have been able to achieve over a 4.0 GPA while taking many honor courses. To further challenge myself in my Junior year I took AP statistics and dual enrolled at a local college to take English. I plan on dual enrolling again my Senior year.
In addition to golf, I love to play basketball and played an integral role as starting point guard for my high school team which made it to the Divisional Championship game my sophomore year and this past season to the quarter finals. My passion for sports and desire to volunteer has also led me to be very active in the youth sports in my town. I assist coaching youth basketball, serve as a referee for our youth basketball program, umpire youth baseball and volunteer at summer basketball clinics. I also enjoy serving as a lector at our local church. My leadership skills were recognized when I was chosen to attend a Rotary Youth Leadership program. With all these diverse activities, I hope it would make me an attractive candidate for your school and team.
This summer I will again work again at a local golf course. I will be assisting the Pro in many ways including overseeing the Women's League.
