Personal Statement

I took a non-traditional path to golf. I started ice skating at the age of 3, and began playing ice hockey at the age of 5. It wasn't until the age of 11 that I picked up a golf club, and finally found my passion.

Through hard work and dedication, I have been able to maintain a strong GPA, and become a dual sport varsity athlete. This year, things have really started to click for me, and I was able to drop my average 18 hole score by 8 strokes in tournament competitive play. In addition, I went on to have 5 top 3 finishes on the Callaway Meijer Junior Tour and one on the Golfweek Junior Tour.

I am looking to attend a college where I can combine my love for golf and pursue a degree. I want to be a member of a team and community that will assist me in acheiving my full potential.

I shot a 77 & 75 for a total of 152. I finished 1st overall. The course is a par 72 with course rating 74.1 at 6606 yards. The weather was 90 degrees and windy both days. Distances were challenging to judge because of the wind, and the greens were hard because of the heat. I believe that I played well and can shoot lower scores in better conditions. Great practice.

I shot a 71 to win my High School Regionals and qualified to play in the Michigan High School State Finals. I finished 1st out of 92 golfers. The course is a par 72 with a course rating of 69.6 at 6075 yards.

I shot a 73 in the Michigan Amateur Qualifier at Kaufman GC and finished T9 out of 75 golfers. The course is a par 71 with course rating 72.1 at 6605 yards. I was tied with 7 other golfers and played in a playoff for the last 3 qualifying spots. Two of the spots were claimed on the first hole. I parred the first hole with another player while the remaining players bogied it. That left only me and one other player to continue for the last spot. We played another seven holes tied before I was eventually beaten on the eighth hole. I did not qualifying for the event but was named the first alternate.

Scored 78 & 71 for a total of 149. Finished 1st. Course rating 74.5 and 6,518 yards. The first day was very windy which made for a challenging round. I shot a 78 and still finished 1st overall on day one. Day two was much calmer and allowed for better accuracy which helped me to shoot a 71 and win the tournament.
