Hi Coach! My name is Matt Cooper and I currently live in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, but I am Canadian born and a citizen of The United Kingdom. I lived in London, England for 6 years where I grew up playing Golf, Tennis, Basketball, and Volleyball. I was the ACS Egham International School Varsity Tennis and Golf MVP in 10th grade and was a member of the International Schools Sports Association Championship Varsity teams twice for Golf, twice for Basketball, and once for Volleyball. I currently attend Shattuck-St. Mary’s Preparatory School in Faribault, Minnesota where I have spent the last year and a half as a member of the Golf Center of Excellence led by former UW-Green Bay Men’s Golf Coach Tim DeSormeau. I made the decision to leave England and take on boarding school at Shattuck to give myself the opportunity to gain a prestigious education, and at the same time play golf at the national level and gain college exposure. This year, I am the Captain of the Golf Center of Excellence where my team competes in many Future Collegians World Tour and Hurricane Junior Golf Tour events as individuals. I am also a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee and an Honor Role recipient with a 3.9 GPA. I will be graduating from Shattuck this May, however, I plan on taking a gap year to live in Florida where I will play in many AJGA, FSGA, USGA, and other highly competitive amateur tournaments. This will give me a great opportunity to improve my World Ranking and work towards becoming the best collegiate golfer I can be.
