Personal Statement

I am a left-wing forward from Eagle River, Alaska playing for Shattuck-St. Mary's Girls Prep team in Minnesota.

My strengths:   hard on the puck, winning puck battles in the corners, moving the puck up ice with a quick pass, viewing ice to get into open lanes and positioning to receive pass, good hand-eye coordination to punch in rebounds, and back-checking hard.  I am coachable in playing a role on a team and following directions, and am a positive teammate.

Off the ice, I have worked hard in school to take on extra responsibility at SSM, such as proctor duties and an added research class called The Major.

I want to continue playing hockey in college at the highest level, where I am pushed to compete and get better every day, just like I have at Shattuck-St. Mary's.

This involves creating fundraising opportunities for the school, assisting new students adapt the prep school environment, and participating in disciplinary proceedings in junior court. I was involved in EDPA which stands for Empowering Differences & Promoting Awareness. In this program we encourage tolerance of cultural differences.
