Since the age of 10, I have been learning the game of golf. I love the game of golf so much that I do whatever I can to continue playing and improving my game. On the weekends, I continued to train and play independently. During my last year of junior high school at Mount Saint Michael Academy, I was given a lacrosse stick from the JV Lacrosse coach of Mount Saint Michael High School. That year, I was also awarded the 2017 Mathew Wallace Foundation Outstanding Leadership Scholarship. Attending an all-boys Catholic high school, I was determined to play sports and be a Mountaineer! Since Mount didn't have a golf team during my Freshmen year, I tried out for the JV Lacrosse team. I continued to play through high school. Being a student-athlete in high school I gained skills in a new sport and made lifelong bonds with my teammates and coaches.
At the end of my sophomore year, I made the decision to play golf at the college level. I continued training independently during the summer and in the Fall of my junior year. Many days I traveled by bus or taxi to golf courses throughout New York City working on perfecting my game. Throughout the years I have practiced at Mosholu Golf Course in the Bronx, Chelsea Piers in Manhattan, and Dunwoodie Golf Course in Yonkers. During the summer of 2019, I had an opportunity to participate in Coach Mueller's Lions Golf Camp at St. Andrews Golf Club in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York. At the camp, I learned valuable skills to prepare me for competing at the college level. During the Fall of 2019, I continued to train hard and prepare for tournaments for Summer 2020. Due to the current pandemic, I was unable to play in golf tournaments around New York City to improve my stats.
My video highlights showcase some of my skills and training I use to prepare for collegiate golf. As a student-athlete, perseverance has taught me how to overcome obstacles in both academics and athletics. I am a very hard-working student and a team player. I believe in playing hard and studying harder. I never give up! Even though I am attending school through remote learning this year I plan to finish strong for my senior year.
I know I have what it takes to excel both in the classroom and on the green!
