I always have loved playing sports whether it's with a team or individually. I grew up playing basketball and baseball mostly but also played golf with my dad and friends for fun. In middle school, I ran track and cross country as well as playing football in 8th and 9th grade years. I was still committed to playing my main three sports going into high school; basketball, baseball, and football. During the summer of my freshman year, I picked up the clubs during days we did not have summer baseball games or summer basketball workouts. Since quitting football to better my focus on baseball and basketball, I discovered my true love and passion for the game of golf. I became addicted as I played everyday I could after the baseball season was over. I decided that I wanted to join the high school team and tryout in the upcoming fall season. I ended up making the team and taking the #1 spot in tournaments and matches going forward after the first tournament. I had a great season for just starting because of how much I loved the game and how focused I was to get better everyday. It was not easy, but I gave it my best to compete with the top players in my conference and eventually, district. I earned TVC-Ohio all conference and first team all-district for Division 1. I decided that I truly wanted to pursue the game of golf to a higher level after my first season. I decided to drop baseball and focus on my two main sports, basketball and golf. Not to mention, I have a true love for the game of basketball and had the most fun playing on varsity my sophomore year. I learned leadership skills and how to handle adversity in the past year on varsity sports. Since the end of my sophomore year, I competed at Athens High School my Junior season as the A golfer for the second season in a row. I held a scoring average of 39 in high school league matches and finished 2nd in the individual rankings for the TVC. After careful consideration, I moved to Columbus to attend St. Charles Prep to give myself more opportunities in the future with collegiate golf. I played basketball as a junior in the winter for St. Charles, and I was on JV and Varsity. Going into my senior year, I will be trying out for the golf team at St. Charles and will pursue getting better and competing in tournaments for the rest of my high school career. I held a 4.49 GPA at St. Charles in a tough classroom environment and have been getting better every day with my swing and mental approach to the game of golf. My goal is to play at a high collegiate level and am willing to play for a smaller program that focuses on player development in my early years of college if that is what it takes to compete at a bigger college in the future.
