Personal Statement
Ever since I was young I have always wanted to play college baseball. Both my dad and my uncle were Division 1 baseball players at Nebraska. I've played ever since I was 6 years old and have always been surrounded by the sport because of my dad. He taught me how to love and appreciate the sport. I believe that I have the skills to compete at the collegiate baseball level and be successful. So far in my high school career I have had many ups and downs. My freshman year I had one of the highest batting averages in the program and led in almost every offensive category. But during the summer of my freshman year I suffered a torn TFCC in my wrist and had to have surgery in the middle of my sophomore season. The injury affected my play and made everything harder so I had to work to get what I wanted. After my surgery I went through 9 months of training to get back to where I was before and it made me appreciate the sport and the grind much more. Also I went through a lot of things that affected my grades and my life. Working through these have only made me stronger and a harder worker.
