Personal Statement
From the earliest years of my life, I have loved the game of golf. I was fortunate to have had the opportunity to learn from some of the best golf professionals in my area of the country. These people helped build and grow my knowledge of the game as well as my passion to excel at golf. My parents have consistently heard from coaches that I am very "coachable," and that they were impressed at my ability to quickly learn and incorporate the recommended changes for my swing and/or golf game overall.
My core values include authenticity, respect, and hard work. The people around me know that I am honest, respectful, and trustworthy. They can rely on me to follow through with my school assignments, to work hard at refining my golf game, and to never miss practices. I am very aware that my actions are noticed by my teammates, and I try to be a leader by doing the right things and making sure I always do what I say I am going to do. I am looking to build life-long relationships with my coaches, teammates and competitors...all while winning tournaments!
Two of my biggest goals for college are being a key contributor for a competitive college golf team and to earn my degree. However, I am not looking to just check the box and say I met those goals after 4 years of college. I know it is not enough to just show up for a tournament or earn a passing grade in a college course. I want to tackle these goals with all my effort as I know it is what you do with these opportunities that matters most. I will do my very best both in golf and academically each and every time. If I am fortunate enough to become part of your team, I will strive to make an immediate impact through my dedicated work ethic and will strive to be a leader for you on the course, in the classroom, and in the community.
