Austin List '11 Recruiting Profile

I am a 6'2" senior from Radnor, PA, and have lettered all four years of HS. My GHIN index is 0.1 and received 3 Player of the Year awards this year: the JR. PGA Phila. Section, Central League POY(unanimous coaches vote), and Sam Penecale POY for low scoring average in the JR.PGA. Other highlights of my summer are that I came in 2nd at the IJGT Seaview Tournament with a 146 two day total. My big disappointment was missing the cut by one stroke at the AJGA Kingsmill Tournament after shooting a 69 to qualify. I just won our Central League Championship Individual Title and was medalist in 8 of 11 matches. I was selected to represent the JR PGA Phila. section for the Jon M. Pritsch Cup, and came in 3rd in the Harry Hammond Invitational. I am Captain of my HS team and Captain of my home course(Merion Golf Club)Interclub team last year. I realize I have started this recruiting process very late and am open to opportunities in all divisions, since my goal is to work hard to have an impact on my team and maximize my playing time. Ideally my preference would be to go to a school in the South where I would have a longer playing season. However, most important is a school with a good academic reputation and a strong sense of community. To develop solid friendships, be a good team player, and enjoy the people with whom I would be spending my time is important to me. My Jr. year GPA was a 2.7, my 1st quarter GPA this year was a 3.36, and my ACT composite score is a 22, but I am working diligently to raise both...check back after first semester, please!
